My co-op partner uses magic to water-walk past the city of Vivec, avoiding all the slaughterfish. “This just might work,” I thought to myself.

It made clear was running on its own engine. Not too long ago I heard of a co-op Morrowind mod. Whether you love it or hate it (and I’m somewhere in the middle) you’re bound to agree it’s not really the co-op experience we want. There may come a time when a playable co-op Skyrim exists but I’m confident it won’t be using that strategy. They’ve got their work cut out for them, I’ll say that much. The attempts I’ve seen have no access to the game engine and work through mods, trying to wrangle a lookalike NPC into doing whatever your friend is doing. You’re not so much playing with a friend as you are playing with a confused doppelganger that has a tendency to run into corners and get stuck.Īnd that’s hardly surprising. The mods that I’ve tried for co-op Skyrim are horrible, janky affairs. There is also supposed to be a guaranteed Ebony Bow in Lost Valkygg, but be warned that this can be exceptionally difficult for low-level players as there are enemies that do not normally spawn until much higher levels.Īlternatively if your role-playing allows if you get conjuration to 50, you can use a Bound Bow which temporarily gives you an ethereal Daedric Bow/Arrows.“Wouldn’t Skyrim be fantastic if it was co-op?” said every gamer ever. Looking over The Elder Scrolls Wiki's entry on bows, there's a few areas where you might be able to grab an Elven Bow at low levels, and Glass Bows might have a low chance to spawn in boss chests even at level 6. And the forsworn are all around The Reach so you can probably grab one of their bows fairly easily.

Enchantment aside, the base stats on the Nightingale Bow at minimum level are roughly equivalent to that of a Forsworn bow. Some of the sought after unique gear like Nightingale Bow will have different stats depending on when you obtain them. Most loot in Skyrim is level dependent to a degree - enemies/chests will not start carrying ebony gear until around lvl 36, for example.
